Chevrolet’s sixth-generation Corvette, known as the C6 would see things tightened up and optimized over the C5. The car was shorter overall, but passenger cabin space was increased. Available as a coupe, convertible, or targa top, the sixth generation Corvette continued to be well received by the adoring American automotive fraternity, and came with the expected mix of higher performance variants including the Z06, ZR1 and Grand Sport.

Exterior and Interior
This 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z16 Grand Sport 1LT wears a bright yellow paint job that’s punctuated by a Chameleon-style vinyl wrap on the hood, roof, trunk, and brake ducts, giving it a somewhat multi-colored appearance that seemingly changes under different lighting conditions. It’s got gunmetal chrome Corvette wheels wrapped in new tires, and sizable yellow brake calipers lurk right behind. An added bonus is that this ‘Vette is of the targa top variant, allowing you to experience some open-topped motoring at will. The interior sports a yellow and black color theme, and like all contemporary Corvettes, is an affair for two only. The driver grips a three-spoke steering wheel with multifunction controls and paddle shifters for the automatic transmission, and faces a clear instrument binnacle with the signature Corvette 200mph speedometer and tachometer, flanked by a quartet of smaller gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and battery charge level. Tech toys include dual-zone climate control, the usual powered conveniences, and a radio with CD player.

Engine
This 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z16 Grand Sport 1LT wears its 6.2L LS3 V8 under the long hood which produces 430hp and 424lb-ft, sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed 6L80 automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Being a Grand Sport, this ‘Vette also enjoys larger and stiffer anti-sway bars, stiffer springs, revised shocks, functional front and rear brake ducts, 6-piston front brake calipers, 4-piston rear brake calipers, Z06 brakes with cross-drilled rotors, and wider front and rear tires.
